What you need to know
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) now requires importers of regulated consumer products to electronically file (eFile) Certificate of Compliance data before those products enter U.S. commerce.

Under the new program, Certificate of Compliance data must be submitted electronically into U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system in advance of import, allowing CPSC and CBP to identify and target high-risk shipments while facilitating clearance for compliant importers.

• Applies to most regulated consumer products imported into the United States
• Certificate of Compliance data must be filed electronically via CBP’s ACE system prior to entry
• Shipments without complete eFiling data may face delays, holds, or refusal of entry
• Supports closer coordination between CPSC and CBP to keep unsafe products out of the U.S. marketplace
